In this Aquarium Perspective Lesson, Middle School students will dive right into learning about the principle of perspective while designing an aquarium. This project covers Common Core Standards for Math and Science for grades 4-8 which can be found at the end of the lesson.

Objective

In this Aquarium Perspective Lesson, students will demonstrate one-point perspective by creating artwork inspired by a walk-through aquarium.

3 – 60 min lessons

• 9×12 Watercolor paper

How to make a Venetian mask with paper.

You will need:

- A card

- A pencil

- Scissors

- A straw

- Crayons, colored pencils, felt pens, etc. 

Unit 2: Pablo Picasso

Task: Draw a Picasso face.

Instructions:

• Have a go at making your very own Picasso Masterpiece. Let the roll of a dice decide what your Picasso face will become.

• All you need is some paper, coloured pen/pencils and a dice. (If you don't have a dice you can always write 1-6 on 6 small pieces of paper, put them in a bowl and pull them out at random).

• Have fun creating your portrait masterpieces just like Picasso.

As we are studying the Romans, I thought it would be  a good idea to make a mosaic for the Art lesson.

What are Mosaics?

Mosaics are pictures made of pieces of stone and glass and were used to decorate some ancient Roman homes and community buildings. 

Large mosaics were used to decorate floors and walls in community buildings as well as in the houses of rich, important Romans.
